This sounds like a ridiculously good opportunity! A completely free art show with free art demos and workshops open to the public. They only ask for the following:

Important bits to remember for the Art Show:

• Be self sufficient whenever possible
• Name tags and access pass for the fabulous “Evening at the Stones” event available at the door
• We encourage you to join Face book to help us communicate updates to you and enable you to connect with others from the event.
• Sales transactions - responsibility of each artist.
• Guaranteed to hang 3 pieces (more if space allows)
• Bring paintings wired, ready to hang with description label and price. There will be enough panels and S hooks to hang all work.
• Smaller Pottery and sculpture pieces may “reasonably” exceed 3 pieces. Tables will be available for displays
• Suggestion: Bring a “head shot” of yourself to post beside one of your description labels or art piece to help each of us recognize and get to know each other.
• Security – Marcel has assigned security/helpers during open show hours.
• The Morden Access Centre has insurance on the building only. If you prefer to insure your work, contact your home insurance provider.
• You are encouraged to take photos during the entire event to post/share on face book.
• If signed up for demo – please bring your tools, equipment and supplies. Easels are available if requested
• If you are taking a workshop please bring appropriate supplies – pastels etc.

Please register for Manitoba’s largest totally free/open art show. The essence of this event is to link artist to artist, in the spirit of sharing your own creative expression and interpretation with others; and connecting with a wonderfully diverse collection of inspiring hearts and minds.

The Winnipeg Aboriginal Film Festival is the 3rd largest festival in North America dedicated to showcasing the best new indigenous film and video from across Canada, the US and around the world. Both on and off screen, WAFF’s mandate is to celebrate and cultivate indigenous storytelling.

Building on a commitment to present free programming, the festival features a new Free Concert Series in Old Market Square. In addition to the very popular lunch hour concerts, the series features free concerts during the opening weekend between 7 pm and 10 pm. Performers at the Free Concert Series include AndrÈ Leroux, Jeanne Rochette, Torontoís Amanda Martinez and much more.

Free Workshops

The TD Jazz Labs, are a series of free workshops led by festival artists covering a wide range of musical perspectives. Starting with a session led by blues artists Sue Foley and Peter Karp, the series continues with pianist Marco Benevento, Bill Charlap and Renee Rosnes, drummer Terry Clarke, and singer Ranee Lee.

Jazz Fest Wrap-up Weekend

The festival culminates with the hugely popular Wrap-up Weekend in Old Market Square on a brand new stage. Thousands of music fans are expected in The Exchange District July 2-4 for three days of FREE music. Performers for the weekend include Amanda Martinez, Opensouls, Papa Mambo, and Moses Mayes.
