It’s a great line-up this year! If you think you might go, stop thinking and buy a ticket!

PS. Also, last day for filing your taxes. Less fun but necessary. ;)

Sunday, April 22, 2012 @ 7 PM - Aqua Books

Tickets: $10/$5 students

An evening of original songs from singer-storytellers Rayannah Kroeker, Margaret Howison and Tim Elias. The intimate setting of the Aqua Books theatre is a perfect place to hear these musical stories play out. Each song is individual, personal, and equal part truth and lie.

$10/$5 Students

When I travel, people often ask me about my hometown, and the arts and culture scene is always something I emphasize.

tvnut:

I flopped onto my bed and decided to check my email. Opened up hotmail and found this:

Me: Oh cool! Flying Fox must have sent out a thank you in their newsletter for everyone who attended their tour.

-Opens email-

Then I find this:

So I sat there for a good couple of minutes with my mouth open staring at my screen.

They just gave me the rest of their album for free.

Two thoughts on this:

  1. I feel super guilty for not buying the rest of their album. I adore their music but I really only wanted the one song because I knew what it sounded like. I was planning on going back and listening to the rest later.
  2. Does this mean they know who I am?

I did have an awesome conversation with their bassist, but…

Anyway, I plan to send them a thank you email later today.

Seriously guys, I was freaking out. I’m still freaking out. But because of their awesomeness this will once again be a Flying Fox promotion post.

Go check them out at their website!

http://flyingfoxandthehuntergatherers.com/store.php

Here you can listen to all of their music before buying their songs (which are only $1.00 each!).

They’re also on myspace. There you can listen to their songs as well as see a few of their music videos!

Anyway, they’re an awesome band and they obviously love talking to their fans!

I’ve been to Festival for the last couple of days, and it’s been a blast! Yesterday was particularly fun taking my young nephews and playing outside in this beautiful weather. Toboggan runs, snow tubing, wagon rides, and king of the hill. Last night, the F-Holes played a great show and we danced our butts off in the crowded Cabane à Sucre.

Check out upcoming concerts!

nb. Some Safeway locations are sold out of the pass, but I highly recommend getting it in advance at one of the other locations to avoid the line-ups at Voyageur Park.

nb2. The line-up to get into Cabane à Sucre is terrible. We were in line for an hour yesterday for the F-Holes show.
