Saturday, April 30, 2011 from 8-11 PM @ Exchange Community Church (3rd floor, 75 Albert Street)

Ingrid Gatin and Demetra Penner are kicking off their Eastern Canada tour, and I can’t be there, so you should go! Ingrid’s got a terrific voice and who doesn’t love a girl on an accordian? I haven’t seen Demetra perform, but I’m sure she’s great if she’s touring with Ingrid!

Project Democracy → facebook.com

More than 60 percent of Canadians do not support Harper and his government’s contempt for democracy. Yet, he could win a majority with as little as 35 percent of the popular vote.

Project Democracy is a tool to help you determine if there is a way to “amp up” your vote and stop a Harper majority. By using a riding by riding election prediction model based on the most up to date public opinion research, we can tell you which Party is best positioned to defeat the Conservative in your riding. Just enter your postal code in the box to the right.

The 39 Steps

April 12 - May 14, 2011 @ MTC (John Hirsch)

Tickets available at www.mtc.mb.ca or 204 942 6537

Mix a Hitchcock masterpiece with a juicy spy novel, add a dash of Monty Python and you have this hilarious spy story that turns theatre on its head. When a beautiful spy leaks a deadly secret to a stranger, self-proclaimed ordinary guy Richard Hannay is pitted against a network of German spies preparing to storm Great Britain. Hannay finds himself embroiled in a high-speed chase while dodging police, charming ladies, and searching for clues. This spell-binding, hilarious thriller includes the first theatrical bi-plane crash ever staged, a provocative bedroom sequence and a death-defying (or nearly!) finale. Winner of the 2007 Best New Comedy at the Sir Lawrence Olivier Awards, this is one story of spies and mayhem you won’t want to miss!
